Local CCCSDV Counselor Fields Calls from Viewers on The Today Show!
On Monday, May 5th eight counselors from NFCC affiliated agencies across the country participated in a phone bank on The Today Show for their Get Out of Debt segment. The event was a wonderful success, as the show received 1,060 calls from viewers with financial concerns. The counselors manned the phones for 4 straight hours, and were able to get to 422 of the callers. That works out to over 50 calls per counselor!
One of our counselors, Stephanie Bittner, a past recipient of the NFCC's Outstanding Counselor of the Year, was selected to participate. Stephanie enjoyed her time participating in this national opportunty and answered one of the viewer questions live on The Today Show with Matt Lauer and Jean Chatsky. Stephanie has counseled for the past six years for CCCSDV and is now focusing on outreach activities in South Jersey as well as facilitating financial education programs.
