CCCSDV Launches New Women's Financial Education Program
From Purses to Portfolios

Philadelphia, PA January 18, 2008 - Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley (CCCSDV) is kicking off a new financial education program geared towards women. Called From Purses to Portfolios, the program is designed to help women learn more about their finances and how to gain financial security and well-being. The program encourages participants to take charge of their financial lives by attending free financial education sessions on an ongoing basis.

The Purses program was originally created and introduced in 2002 in Delaware as a small financial literacy program for women managed by the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute (DFLI) and sponsored by Citigroup. The program has flourished and expanded over the years.

Says CCCSDV President Patricia Hasson, "We are pleased to offer the Purses program to local women and know there is a great need for quality, ongoing education surrounding personal finance, particularly for women.

The Kick-off event, sponsored by Citibank and Fox and Roach Charities Roach will include dynamic sessions on issues directly related to the financial obstacles that women face today. Presenters include Tracy Davidson from NBC10 and Dara Duguay from Citigroup. The half day event will take place on Saturday, January 26 at Temple University's The Howard Gittis Student Center from 8:30 am- 12:30 pm. There is no cost to attend however, registration is required.
