CCCSDV and ING DIRECT Announce 2008 Winners In Student Poster Contest Program
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley (CCCS) and contest sponsor ING DIRECT celebrated the student finalists and announced the winners in the 9th Annual Student Poster Contest on May 22 at the ING DIRECT Café at 17th and Walnut Streets. The goal of the poster contest is to encourage students to focus on the importance of money management by designing a creative poster on a topic related to saving.
“Educating young people about spending and saving is as important as teaching them to read and write. Our annual student poster contest has been a great way to open up these conversations in the classroom.” said CCCS president, Patricia Hasson. “This year’s students, as always, did a fabulous job illustrating the theme, ‘Savings --- The Road to You Future.’”
Three students from each grade category – 3rd to 5th; 6th to 8th; and 9th to12 th – won Orange Savings Accounts worth $250 (1st place), $150 (second place), and $100 (third place). ING DIRECT donated the Orange Savings Accounts and cash prizes to help students get a jumpstart on savings. The posters will be included in a special commemorative calendar to be distributed to community and partner organizations and agencies throughout the region in the fall.
