Everyone has a unique financial situation and it can be difficult to objectively identify your individual habits or problems. A Credit Counselor can provide insight and advice on your finances before more serious issues arise.
The following is a list of scenarios that our Counselors often see with clients:
- The client’s income does not cover all of their monthly expenses.
- The client does not keep track of their expenses or maintain a budget.
- The client has not reviewed their credit report because they do not understand all of the information listed on the report.
- The client does not understand the impact of their credit on purchasing a car, house, insurance or even getting a job.
- The client regularly uses credit cards to pay for necessities in order to stretch their paycheck.
- The client is paying late fees and over the limit fees on their credit cards and isn’t sure how to begin repayment.
- The client is unsure of the financial requirements for buying a house and what mortgage terms they can afford.
- The client is considering a reverse mortgage, but doesn’t have a lot of information about them.
- The client is living on a fixed income and can no longer afford their home.
- The client is struggling to meet their mortgage payments, and is often paying late.
- The client has received a foreclosure notice and needs assistance from an approved housing counseling agency.
- The client is considering or has been advised by an attorney to file bankruptcy.
- The client has been laid off, experienced a cut back in hours, or a medical problem that has decreased their income.
- The client knows of a situation that is going to change their finances, and needs to plan for the future.
- The client has contacted CCCS before for another issue, but isn’t sure if more help is available.
