Delinquency Counseling

The goal of delinquency counseling is to review your current situation and bring you current on your mortgage and if not, provide the best possible options. In a default and delinquency session, you and your counselor will:

  • Obtain a clear understanding of your objectives
  • Determine the time frame available to accomplish your objectives
  • Complete a current budget analysis and work with you to establish a realistic budget
  • Help bring your mortgage current if only budget concessions are necessary
  • Determine the reason for default
  • Work on a hardship letter (when applicable)
  • Determine if your financial situation may change in the near future
  • Determine ability and willingness to liquidate assets if available to help cure your mortgage default
  • Discuss options and what is best for you
  • Create a detailed case action plan

Call 800-989-2227 to schedule an appointment. Delinquency counseling, a 2-hour session, is only offered in-person at one of our ten convenient locations. This one-on-one counseling service is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and Turkish.
